9 days gone ...

This Yamaha Term Break that i just had was really a holiday i guess... by not doing anything besides sleeping late everynight , struggling with not enough sleep and yet refuse to feed my body with sleep .. i just hate sleeping i don't know why . Only when i am very tired i can rest ... hahaha.. i know,i'm crazy . That's because i feel whenever i'm asleep it's wasting precious time and i won't be able to do anything else. Which makes no difference this holiday i think because indeed i did not do anything productive.

Except of course , spending more money ..... celebrating Su Yee and Mun Wei's birthday .. on Mon and also Friday. We the YAAM students gathered and threw both of them a surprise party .. in Poh Yee's house. And for once , i felt like a kid again. My whole Monday was occupied preparing birthday stuffs for the girls , bought them cakes , prepared some goodies , made some water balloons, bought even more balloons , and just because su yee loves mickey mouse i printed out HUNDREDS of mickey mouse heads and cut them out together with Ron as a decoration for the girl's party. Mun wei had a more romantic party though , with candles lighting up her name on the floor. And Ron PROPOSING to marry her ... ahahahhaha ... Errm Mun wei was the luckier wan , with 2 celebrations , so this was just episode 1 and a sneak preview of another celebration poh yee and i had planned for her on Fri in NBT. Episode 2!

We only started the surprise party for the girls at 11pm at night .. so by the time we were done surprising her and ate , it was almost 1am. .. and by the time everyone settled down .... after mun wei's party was done , we started throwing cakes at each other and splashing water around the whole balcony ... by the time all were done, everyone was WET and dirty and squishy and splashy and disgustingly in high fashion. (Joanne had a wicked witch hair , i had a nice pink polka dot hair , while the rest had nice cream heads and wet shirts) How lame .. ahahaha we took some pictures and decided it wsa enough ... packed and cleaned all the mess up ... and settled at 2am.

Next round was to eat Mun Wei's bday cake and by the time we were done eating , we went upstairs to play some games while some of us chatted away and by the time everyone prepared bed .. it was already 4 am ... and while i tried to sleep and doze off by 4+am .. i heard the rest still chatting and they said they only slept at almost 6+am ! Woke up by Ron's irritating piano playing in the morning but it was already 11+am .. we all had brunch and left home. What an enjoyable party . You birthday girls had fun huh?

Then it was nothing else .. i just enjoyed myself staying at home .... i don't know how did i pass the next few days at home until Friday ... OH thursday was of course ... Diana Krall LIVE in KL concert .. and it was AMAZING ! Never will i complain about the RM 291 anymore ... although we sat at the LAST row and way far away .... but we could still see the band and hear everything clearly.... Joanne recorded 4 videos of her performances , and the best thing is to know she chose all her LIVE IN PARIS set of songs .... (less than that dvd of course) and without the Symphony Orchestra ... this time , she only brought herself , Anthony Wilson (jazz guitar) , Robert Hurst (Bassist) and a new drummer i don't know. But this drummer is indeed a very impressive one! Diana's improvisation this time , shocked me though ... she did not improvise safely within the jazz old school standards anymore ,but this time started using modern jazz kind of lines which sent me OH SO HIGH on my seat. HHAHHA .. for a woman jazz pianist , HATS OFF!

Just because of Diana Krall , i sacrificed my one and only holiday to Penang with sisters and therefore it was of no regret... would never trade anything for that performance. Then of course it was Friday ... i did nothing the whole day except practising impro here and there , a little of my piano and jamming alone at home ... then watched Nodame Cantabile and finally i finished off the whole series ! I didn't know it was soooo touching and inspiring . Indeed a good drama. I teared and laughed and teared and laughed throughout alone in front of my pc .. crazy. Anyway .. Night came ..

It was time for Mun Wei's episode 2 of her birthday celebration. This time we made it pretty simple, booked our reservations for NBT at 1030pm ... because it's a Fri night and we dunno how many people are going to turn up. So anyway , Kim , myself , Poh Yee and Su Yee decided to come along to join in the hype. The band playing that night was Brazillian bossanova and samba with CHEONG (Gosh we kind of anti him man.., Cher Siang (SENSEI!!! Piano) , Martin (drums .. ehehheh he came for a good reason!) , and some malay bassist. It wasn't the band i ideally wanted but nonetheless since it was a full band night with Cher Siang i thought it shouldn't turn out bad. Because the last time we had Cheong singing on stage it was BORING!

So we reached NBT around 10 40pm and it was surprisingly full ... the band hasn't started but we managed to get a TEENY WEENY small table upstairs , with 5 of us squeezing on one small round table .. but it was a good seat , right in the middle of the stage upstairs. Kind of grandstand. Anyway , night went on ... ordered our Heineken..thus to find out later the night that Su Yee has problem drinking liquor, so from Heineken it was given to Kim , then she changed to Long Island Tea after 2 sips .. it was given to Poh Yee , and moved on to Mun Wei's sangria .. she couldn't take it as well .. so finally Kim got her 2 cups of ICE WATER and she was satisfied. WE LAUGHED our heads off at her whole night .Haahahha what la girl .. drink ice water in jazz bar ....

After the band's first set .. i went downstairs , and our stupid surprise started to screw up ... Poh Yee didn't bring hp she didn't inform me earlier ... our roses and cake we bought was brought upstairs without me knowing and it shouldn't be upstairs in the first place! Stupid indian waiter came and told Poh Yee who was just sitting right beside THE BIRTHDAY GIRL that he has put the stuffs upstairs. So there was no more surprises after all ... then in my absence (Which was a very long time) , mun wei already knew what was happening .... after all of a sudden i just did what was needed ... grabbed the guys and spoke to them . From Martin to Cher Siang to Cheong and finally to the waiter upstairs.

After all the commotion downstairs ... the 2 guys were already up on stage (Cher Siang and Cheong) waiting for my signal and i quickly rushed to interrupt the next character involved and got him SHOCKED at my request .. ahahhha .. so after all the persuading , he agreed and followed me upstairs. I rushed upstairs to find that the cake was still in preparation thus delaying MORE time with no one helping me ,and i started to feel frustrated and hurried the waiter while mun wei PRETENDED to NOT look at me and just kept staring down the stage. Finally after the preparation was done , i rushed to our seats and waved to Cher Siang to signal OK but he was a little blur until he saw my BIG BIG HORRENDOUS 2 thumbs up waving non stop he finally got it and WAVED BACK AT ME IN RETURN when mun wei saw all of these and still pretended nothing happened!

Of course in between all these , the 2 guys who already on stage had to wait for QUITE A LONG TIME and so Cheong (band leader cum singer cum guitarist) started singing some nonsense songs to fill up the gap until i gave them signal ... HAHAHAHAH ... sorry guys! Then Cher Siang saw my signal and stopped Cheong from singing and he started blabbering and announcing mun wei's birthday but called her name wrongly ... GOSH .. they just can't get her name right! I already TOLD HIM CLEARLY. Then anyway , Cher Siang started playing wei's special birthday song .... imagine .. get your hands ready to be clapped ...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALA BACH!

Yeah Bach invention style ... NICE like siao ... impressive like crazy .. and it's not just like 1 verse , it lasted quite some time .. and then i signalled the waiter to bring the cake over and so went on blowing the candle , and Cheong stopped Cher Siang from playing and make her make a wish and blow her cake. After that Sensei continued playing and finished the song and that was it! MISSION ACCOMPLHISED !

We thanked Cher Siang and complimented his playing and i tell you ... it was ON THE SPOT improvisation man ... Mun wei asked me how long he improvised this i said it was ON THE SPOT because i just asked him like few minutes ago. After that , the band went on with their second set and we went on chatting and laughing and finally the night was done by almost 1+am. We left NBT and reached to our 2nd round .. UMA RANI mamak in Jln Ipoh for supper. Beer makes me gastric eh ... better not drink next time.

By 3am we were back home ... and it was such a tiring night but yet time passes so fast .. i left NBT feeling happy mission was accomplished but yet i had unfinished business so i felt a little disappointed actually ... for not being able to catch Cher Siang .... So i went back home and go online to find out he left me a message in my facebook inbox .. and

Because of facebook , i managed to keep in touch with Cher Siang and after NBT all of a sudden i feel so excited and anxious and finally things are all settled . I've never felt so excited before to be able to start my engine going again. I guess this is the time i should stop doing nothing at home, and really get serious with my dream and start to POW my way through realizing my jazz piano dreams. Agree ? i guess God doesn't want me to just sit down at home everyday , only youtubing and jamming myself on the piano without knowing how to play properly ... i should start something and it should starts now because if i dont , i'll get nowhere. So yeah .. After several messages and 1 phone call . I AM MORE THAN EXCITED NOW!

So looks like that's about it .. over the weekend .. i basically did nothing , except spending some time shopping with mom in 1u and got myself some clothes and another pair of heels to replace my black heels which snapped. So ... Sun was a good day as usual it always is. Today , was all about spending time at home wiht my electone and piano. And pc ... time just goes by like this man.. i'm not doing anything productive looks like it. Arrghhh .. back to work tomorrow folks !
