wow wow wow wow and more WOW's...

Yesterday .... was THE day i've been waiting excitedly for since the past 10 days .... after mun wei's birthday ... and so finally it arrived and when it really came i did not believe and suddenly i don't feel the excitement anymore. Although deep down i was pretty frustrated at first , because sensei did not call me or get back to me by Friday night .. and i was suppose to start my first class on Mon.. Although this time i kept convincing myself to be EXTRA patient because i know he's a superstar and will be very busy so i have to get used to bear with less frequent schedule ... (thanks wei for reminding..) and so i waited... until Fri night ... i was online chatting and Wei reminded me

"Eh friday already le ... no news ah? Why do'nt you call him"

"Yeah i give him another day .. tomorrow after work he doesn't call i'm gonna do it"

Couple of seconds later i saw him online in Facebook (i am loving facebook man!) and i couldn't wait any longer so decided to asked him there and then. It's funny , how facebook becomes OUR communication TOOL ... hahahah ... so lame. Then Wei and i kept joking about how C.H should now upgrade himself from MSN to facebook ... and i started grumbling and complaining because of my impatience .. and cursing ... hhahaha later after chatting we set a time and finally my class was confirmed to go on. Then we talked about his upcoming tour and suddenly Wei and I almost wanted to FAINT because he is going to perform in MPO and both our jaws almsot DROPPEd because we never expect someone like him to be able to peform in MPO ... and that's like part of his tour. We checked out for further details on their website and while i being the egoistic stupid girl "TARIK HARGA" telling him i MIGHT see him there ... suddenly thigns changed 180 deg after seeing some very BIG japanese names....

HIROYUKI NORITAKE - drums

GOSH .... this name scared me ... and after confirming on youtube , i screamed and INSIST we must go because he is Masato Honda's drummer and used to be with T Square for AGES ... I LOVE WATCHING HIM AND I CAN'T BELIEVE SENSEI IS PERFORMING WITH HIM! the rest of the japanese members i'm not familiar with .. but whatever as long as i know this is going to be a goooooood watch and it just makes me more so excited to have a teacher like him .

So Mon finally came .. and after having quite a torturing Sun electone class .... being bashed (As usual) for not being able to play Classical properly on the electone (I JUST SUCK AT CONTROLLING STRINGS DO I!?) ... i felt like an idiot once more... and i know i just have to swallow all of these for my own benefit .. although i was pretty emo in class and i'm sorry i shouldn't have been so easily angered. .. but anyway it's hard to be angry because you always seem to make me LAUGH all the time. .. even while i suck at playing .

So anyway i was waiting anxiously and finally the day arrived .. woke up at 10 30am and had "BRUNCH" with poh yee su yee and Ron and his mom ... by the time i got home was 1+pm and i jsut decided to practice my songs one last time before showing him later. I showered and left the house around 2 20pm .. and received a good luck message from Wei .. hehe thanks!

I reached B U and found my way to his house around 2 45pm and surprisingly it was so easy to find .. so i reached his house and parked my car in a little disbelief. I came down and greeted him who was waiting just inside the porch area.. and so he sneaked a peek out and saw me and we started having our first words..

Me : HI!
CS : Hi .. Errm i'm sorry but you have to wait a little while ..

(Oh no i reached too early... he has student ah..)

Me : Oh ..
CS : Coz i brought the wrong set of keys out today and there's some problem with the gate (blah blah) so i've got no keys to get into the house now .... so we have to wait for someone to bring the keys back to me. Sorry..

(Oh my .. what a FIRST day! ahahha)

Me : Oookkkaaayyyyy .....

Then i walked into the house and we sat down to wait and while waiting we chat for a very long time and after that someone came and sent a set of keys home and so ta da! Door is opened... walked into the house... anticipating my first class to start officially .. and by then he already knew me enough to start teaching me.

After all the heat and humidity outside the house ... (sun was scorching HOT that day) both of us were all sweaty and thankfully the house was very cooling .. hahaha .. so he opened this room door and it was his music room and so i sat down on the piano .. and there we had it. My FIRST official class!

I played 2 songs ... a swing and a bossa standard..and he started TEACHING me after i finished my last note on the bossa. It was REAL fun! He was super PRO ... and many a times left me a little dumbfounded .. after graduating for 9 months now .. i needed time to refresh my memories about some in depth harmony stuffs ... nevertheless i enjoyed every moment of it .. after learning A LOT of stuffs and towards the end of my hour ... i asked him to choose some songs for me as homework and he checked out my set of lead sheets and stumbled upon Jauh Jauh ...

He stared at the score for a VERY LONG time .... and finally he checked out on it and i get to hear another version of JAUH JAUH ! ahahahha so nice ... but it's really hard to improvise on it anyway.. hats off to the J. Boyle family! After that it was time for me to leave. .. so before i said goodbye he showed me around his "ASSETS" of jazz collection .. and i suddenly felt like i was in a USA jazz library . I borrowed some stuffs back from him .. and am still getting HIGH watching them now!

Left his place and said goodbye .. while i walked to my car and climbed into it and started my engine and driving home .. i only had 1 thing to do . SMILE WIDELY... what a great FIRST day class.. am looking forward to more stuffs coming along and see how i progress. In the meantime, LOADS to practice ! And yeah .. next time round ...
