1-1= 0

Get it ? After all the lame highly intellectual mathematical equation i came out with on Sunday afternoon for the video clip recording before 2plus3's performance , it was all in vain. The only equation that made sense to me was ,

1-1 = 0

That's because my "lucky" hand got a 1 for the first ballot and then followed by another 1 which then equals to getting nothing for the final result. How coincident...

Yup so we started off the day pretty early ... 9 am ... i drove to the convention center and parked where Siang showed me the day before ... was the first to reach so i waited for the rest at the front entrance of the theater. Teck and C.H came shortly and yay! he bought us McD's breakfast ... while eating with Teck , the pale and unhealty looking Teck whispered something to me which i didn't hear clearly and then explained himself again to me. After hearing him i got a shock and almost fell off the building if the transparent glass were not there.

Basically the news was that Siang misplaced his pendrive which contains all our registration sounds for Summertime.

By then C.H heard my reaction and came to ask , so we told him and thank GOD he has a backup copy with him. THANK GOD!

The commotion never ended immediately as the girls came upstairs later and Siang was still busy searching for the tiny device until we started to be agitated because he wasn't up yet. So almost 15 minutes later he finally came up after being comforted byC.H himself and we all went into our "Green Room" for our short briefing and final full dress rehearsal .

After performing and warming ourselves up in the rehearsal , we had our lunch break at 12 +pm and waited for Hem to come and make up for us. Thankfully they came in time and all 3 of us girls got ourselves made up while the boys took a short nap waiting. By then , Teck already looked like he was half dead and we just kept praying he'll be fine. Oh why ? Read his blog for more info . Hahahha

While hanging out in the "Green Room" 2plus3 also became The Shimmers (Kelana Jaya JSAC students) babysitters . Hahhaahha ... i can't believe i actually tried talking to the ever bookwork quiet boy Kenneth and also closed my eyes to count 1-100 so that the girls can finish drawing their "CinderBella" picture!! hahahaa ...

By 2 15pm we were all done with ourselves and sneaked out to the corridor ... and WHOAAA.. we saw a long que of people waiting for the theater door to be opened ... i saw Pas Ronnie , Aunt Carolyn and mum together and so chatted a little with them. Sadly JM and gang haven't reach so couldn't catch them . By 2 30pm Julie chased us in and so we waited excitedly for the opening of the Electone Festival 2007 Finals!

By 3 10pm the competition began and when 2plus3 walked out to acknowledge the crowd , cheers and screams were heard from our friends and supporters. It was nice of you all!!!

Then we found out the panel of judges were ERRHMMM ... our dearest Richard ! hahahha and of course other professionals of the music field but there were 5 of them which made things very difficult to decide , according to Richard himself.

All participants were not allowed to sit outside the hall so we were given a large tv (err hmm it's actually Academy's tv!) to watch live from inside the Green Room. It's amazing how encouraging everyone was .. applauding and really encouraging each other after each performances when they're done. It was a good sporting and team spirit shown.

After the first Concours category there was a 15 minutes intermission so we all sneaked out again to talk to our friends ... it was nice to see people coming to watch and support us! just TOO BAD ...

Immediately after that it was the Open Solo category and then was our turn. Being the 1st to go up was definitely a disadvantage ... i don't know why but it just feels NOT GOOD to be the 1st . Besides , i've not gotten 1st before !! ARRGHHH .... but it was good fun. Before our turn , we still joked lamely backstage about this boy's game song arrangement... and then Den and I jumped up and down to warm oursevles up. Our thoughts were only to enjoy yourelves out there and not think of the winning or losing point.

It was fun to play in front of 500 people and i must admit the nervousness of it wasn't felt ... at all ... i was just enjoying myself and i'm sure others did toO! The only setback is that i personally made many mistakes . Slips were heard everywhere ... after the solo section ... C.H was so worried he told me ,

Eh you made so many mistakes just now ah.. "

"Yeah i know! All my fault..=("

then on Tues morning he said ,

"You made so many mistakes .. i was sooo worried you were going to breakdown!"

"Aiyoh! This is ensemble la! Not solo .. how to breakdown?The song is so easy!!"

But honestly it wasn't our best performance in terms of quality but it was our most enjoyable one definitely. After that 5 min 36 sec performance , we all went in feeling

"WHat ? That's it.. all over adi ? ahahaha"

Jit patted us on the shoulders and said "Good Job!" before we left into the Green Room again. So while waiting for results we went out to have short chats with our friends and supporters and family members who came to watch ... I was sitting up there next to Ps Ronnie to chat with them when suddenly someone came to pat on my shoulder and when i turned around i saw ,

KAORI!!

She is our Jap teacher in Academy and told us earlier she won't come but mana tau.. she turned up! hahahaha had a short chat with her ... she felt we did a great job and asked me not to worry... but TOO BAD ...

While browsing through the hall , i was busy searching for my ex-teacher Ah Phua but no sign of him .. so i thought nevermind probably he went out or something. Then the time was over so we had to move back in to standby for the prize giving ceremony.

When we were called out Teck decided to stand with 2plus3 now .. so while waiting anxiously , we went

"OK .. here it goes!"

But the real fact is that the winners went to other teams ... and while clapping for others , we were all busy mumbling to ourselves on the stage while putting up the widest fakest smiles ever... The funniest thing is when Ting who was standing beside one of the Star Wars girls , was told by her saying

"Very embarrasing hoH?"

Ting turned around to me and immediately was in awe of what she heard and we all were speechless .. because the small kids could feel embarrased , so what do you think of us full time music students plus 2 Yamaha teachers in the team ? hhahhahaa .. Then we also made a lame joke on Saturday that 2plus3 won't turn up on Sunday because they're staying at home to do assignments. We told ourselves on stage ,

"See.. we really should've stayed at home and do assignment! hahah"

Then we were hoping that Teck could save our name ... but anyway his 2nd place was already an achievement considering the amount of time he spent preparing for it. After the ceremony was over , we stayed back to take loads of pictures with our dearest C.H , Jit , Richard , and aww... our dearest friends who came! =)

By 6 + pm we were all done and as promised by C.H we all headed to my favourite eating place to have a good meal .. AMERICAN CHILLIS!!! =) Heheh isn't it nice of him??

It was a joke from earlier that i said i want to eat Chillis but he really took it seriously and insisted on buying us a nice meal .. =)

Thankfully though it was Father's Day there were not many people waiting so in desperate hunger we all settled for the Smoking Area seats. It was so nice of C.H that he said

"ok . you all can order anything you want except the calling for the bill!"

So i finally ordered my favourite ,

Monterry Chicken ! Shared with Den though can't finish ...

So by 8 30pm we all called it a day... and i went to meet mum and went home with her. Had another yam cha session with mum after tthat ... then i finally could have a good rest , switching on my pc and went online to finally start our assignment! (Due on wed) But going online was a lame idea because i end up chatting and typing only 1 paragraph of what was suppose to be my assignment . Hahahha ...

My day wasn't over as i kept myself awake to watch the US F1 GP until 3 am ... trying to cheer myself up by hoping Felipe Massa would win but nah .. fat hopes . It's ok . Things don't turn out our way all the time...

You know what i learnt the most out of this ?

1) Strings of bad luck can really come and they come withut stopping until everything stops!

2) Although so , God is in control and He makes sure the best is given to us. (Yup we might deserve to win but it wasn't our best performance on that day)

3) Friends are really a nice gift of life . 2plus3 remains the best of people i've worked with ..

4) We made our teachers proud!! (C.H and Richard)

5) This whole competition has made all of us closer to each other and has created a bond that others won't have in a long time

6) Unusual of me , i learnt to take this result SO DIFFERENTLY !! (did not shed a tear , did not sulk like as though my husband died but was just merely disappointed)

7) We've gained more valueble experiences compared to the RM 800 and trophy

Oh and lastly ... 2plus3's day did not end on Sunday 17th June . We're going to be in action again end of this year .. hehehe .. this time it's going to be even more fun because a replace bassist is coming in when Teck leaves to UK! ahahahhahaha .. check it out man! =) Oh yeah.. Thank YOU ALL for coming to support us! Jm , Kay Renn , Lynn , Sandra , PS Ronnie , Aunt Carolyn, Mum, and all of u YAAM ppl!! =)
