LiLc-Passion for Passion: An eyE OpEnIng ExPerience

Today is a very tiring day ... actually it started off pretty normal ... As usual on a wednesday morning , JR woke me up from my sleepy bed. . in Hem's house ... then i rushed off to school at 9 40am which of course was a little late ... HAd a 2 hours Workshop class ... until 12pm ..

For an absurb reason , both den and i just didn't want to go out to buy lunch because we're pretty tired of doing it ... for 2 days in a row every week for the whole semester and counting .. then Evelyn and Ka Ka went out to buy for us instead . Thanks ..

Went for another one of those "i didn't practice ENOUGH" jazz class .. and this time i don't know why , but i just felt the urge of wanting to perform one of my Jazz pieces ... instead for next lunch time concert next week . WOW .. why ? James encouraged me to do it because no one's actually really done it ... play a proper jazz piece .. except during exams ...

Then we had another very interesteing masterclass with James ... himself ! This gig not only plays jazz freaking well on the piano , he composes hecks of music for other purposes like local theater industry , lecturers on almost every contemporary school available in KL and of course plays in his own band .. didn't even know he was into film scoring ! So yeah his masterclass was about film scoring and after the end of it i told him it was the better of the 2 previous similar masterclasses we had with 2 other lecturers instead .=) Siang said this ,

"Very simple .. he did his homework before he came."

Not that others didn't do .. but just that James went into more details this time .

By 4pm i called our 2plus3 practice off because we couldn't find a suitable studio to practice and so .. it'll be postponed to tomorrow morning instead . I HOPE IT WORKS!

Then Ting , Den and i proceeded to Danny's house for her recording session for her composition which she produces (ting) herself .... really salute her . Honestly girl ,i don't think i myself being a contemporary person could've done what you did . Really salute you and proud of your work . Though you should've sang better! Hahahhaa ... but anyway , it was a good learning experience for all 4 of us (OOOpss forgotten about Teck) ...

So by 7 45 pm we were done and after an almost 4 hours of hard work ... and patience ... all of us were so drained out that we treated Danny's house like ours .. made ourselves comfortable ... lying on the sofa , sitting on the floor , lying everywhere to rest ourselves while we could . HAHahha .. made our own drinks ... blah blah .. oh of course not to mention , with the help of the assistant engineer who not only was able to observe Danny working with us , but helping us to bring our water over and stuffs ! Hahhaahha .... talking about being a tea "lady" huh ..

By 7 45pm we left his house .. and being too sleepy i was , i forgotten there was a little high divider built just behind my car where i parked .. and i so happily reversed the car and BANG into it .... but it was just a scratch ... small one , resulted in nothing except the fact that it helped to even make my "broken" exhaust worse! Whenever i stop the car with the engine on , the sound scares me like as if there are broken pieces of metal ringing at the back of my car .... so gotta bring it to fix this saturday.. i really hope WMT can last till then! PLEASE LORD!

SO yeah .. it was really an eye-opening experience .. helping my dear friend Ting to backup vocals... it was trully a new experience for me .. singing in CHINESE hahahah and moreover i've not done harmony voices in my whole 20 years of life ... so this is my first time but it's pretty challenging honestly . Now we know being a singer is not that easy .... always have to consider many different elements of producing a good voice . By the way , i think my training of singing harmony lately has helped a little .. coz everytime i hear a song on radio , i'll keep wanting to sing the harmony instead of the melody now! IT's SO FUN! Hahahah though it's still out of pitch at times and i'm still learning . Best of all is to follow Den ... she's so good .. that everytime i dunno what pitch to sing whenever i hear her beside me i could just follow immediately!

Danny's studio was awesome i tell you .. his house seemed so deceiving from the outside .. ahahh you totally won't expect that to be his house until you step into the back of it ... you'll see the awesome built studio , with a vocal booth built opposite the room .. it's really similar to C.H's house but Danny's is pretty more professional with bigger equipments and no piano or stagea in it not mentioning the vocal booth ... C.H's is more to his own working space ... coz Danny's a professional music producer .. so yeah .. you would expect to see better things there. =) THANKS DANNY!
