2plus3....Again...

Looks like as long as we've not been through the competition there's always things to blog about ... US...

And so this time it's the responsibility i have to take as a leader ...NO not because someone made a mistake and i have to any sort of punishment or whatsoever ... Just that since the competition date is drawing near and this is when most of the things needed to be done... and guess who's going to do them ? YUP .. ME ... Lily Tan. .

Please don't get me wrong , i'm not complaining whatsoever ... i'm in fact honoured to be given the opportunity to do it because that means i'm able to learn how to use the Stagea now .. since i only know how to use the EL series electones , i think it's time i should learn to be versatile on the Stagea too ... So yea ... let me explain my frustration .

Ok hmm .. i'm a little cheered up now . Since my best buddy though i've not seen for ages and hardly understands what i do everyday came online to say Hi to me i'm glad he cared to listen to me and concern over my situation here . =) THanks .. And also now C.H came online we chatted a little and cheered me up more by wanting to buy me a nice dinner since i helped them so much this tiem ... which i think is unnecessary but i'm happy with the thought of it . Thanks anyway

So yea ... let me continue with my frustration ...

The story began when we had our practice with C.H on Mon afternoon .. it all went well ,he was pretty satisfied with our playing and arrangement and said

"You all have the standard arleady. Just the showmanship is still insufficient".

We were pretty shocked with that statement and so he said the following day he'll change the
sounds from EL to Stagea during my class time ... and so yeah that was it for Monday . Then comes Tues , where the fun began ... He checked my Smoke Gets In Your Eyes piece first ... His childhood all time favourite song , which he still remembers until now because he loves it sooo much that i could see it from his speech ... So after that we proceeded to the Stagea where he converted the sounds to the Stagea and tried changing my registration sounds .

Which took ages ... (No it took the remaining time of my class and a little bit more) that he still couldn't finish doing and finally said he had to go home to complete it . So by exploring more we had some discussions and he tried some new things and he said why not change the drum beats ... and so ... he tried and it was MUCH MORE NICER!! SOO COOOLL!!!!

So by then , it was not only just changing the sounds of the electone but also changing the drum beats (background beats) from the acoustic drum set to the "Dance Kit" which so much more modern and cool .... He at first decided he'll do it but by the end of the class when Angela haven't show up for her class , he came back into my studio and tried to play around with the drum beats ... BUT i didn't know he was actually saying these words ,

C.H :"Come , i teach you ... see ah .. blah blah blah *press press press.. blah blah blah .. press press press buttons * Get it?"
Me : "HUH wait .. repeat again ... "

C.H :"blah blah blah ... *press press press* .... OK ?"

Me :"OHHH .. it's the same concept as EL is it... GOT IT ... wah cool eh ..."

C.H :"OK good , so you know how huh? Now you know , you do it! hahahhaha!!! then i
don't have to do so many things ..."

Me :"HUH!? YOU WANT ME TO DO IT??? hmmm..OKIEEE....."

C.H :"can ah? ahahah ok? GOOD..."

*He gave me nice smack on my shoulder and left*


And that was it ... a new assignment ... within a few days ... i gotta complete it . So knowing the fact that i am not familiar with the Stagea i gotta learn how to use it ... and from this experience i hope my knowledge of this electone will be much stronger ... =) BUT .... the setback is that he was suppose to go home to unprotect the disket he gave me and then pass it back to me today which he FORGOTTEN totally about it ... giving me this all cheeky smile this morning .. =( That was fine ,until he promised to email me the data tonight so i can still do the convert the rhythm tomorrow morning because that's the only time i have .

Then , he called me just now saying that the disket couldn't be unprotected and he asked me to use another software i have at home to try it myself BUT i'm not at home this few days because in Hem house to accompany her until Fri night .. which was ANOTHER "GREAT" NEWS ....

And so after me reminding him that he used to have one copy of the unprotected disk , he went to search his whole house for it then called me back . The news was negative and so we had some discussion on how to solve this problem and so the conclusion is this ,

Tomorrow morning i have to get my butt into studio 10 and sit there for hours pressing buttons not just converting the rhythm sections , but start by editing the sequence of the rhythm from scratch because the only data i have with me now is the original book's wrong data he converted into Stagea...

SIGH ... MORE WORK TO DO instead. ...

So yeah .. it's OK if i have to do all this work but the problem is i spend almost the whole week in Hem house which means my resources are limited and i gotta come back to her place as soon as i finish classes because i've promised to spend precious time with my nieces. .... so you see... it's just the small frustration of these little things behind that makes me a little upset . But otherwise i think i shouldn't sweat and fret about it so much . So i'm learning not to sweat the small stuffs and cope with maximising the resources out of the worse situations .. this is NOT the first time , but i definitely will try my best ... no matter what .

So yeah God ...i don't know why and how .. but i guess what Eric ko-ko said is right .

Every appointed leader did not happen by chance and coincidence , but planned and annoitted by God above! AMEN! If this is what He plans , then i'm sure He will be with me to go through it...

I just told C.H that it doesn't matter if i take the trouble to help everyone coz anyway it's my responsibility and in fact i get to learn more from this opportunity so why not . So yea , just take it as a learning process i'll grow faster! =) Thank YOU ok .. don't have to say thank you to me.
