God's DivinE plan...

Wow i just came back from Flory and Alvin's wedding .... congrats to both of you lovebirds! It was not bad ... i mean for a wedding we guessed it was going to be a very typical chinese wedding with chinese karoake singing ,people shouting YAAAAAAM SEEEENG!! here and there .. (so it was) plus this freaking table at the very back always syok sendiri ... singing and cheering and screaming their ways off when no one invited them to .. and some bunch of guys who can't witstand their addiction and started smoking in the restauranaT! OH MY GOD!

I was asked to play a few songs for the couple on their wedding night .. and so i decided to bring a keyboard and play a few songs to entertain the crowd .. but since i was told it's a chinese traditional wedding , my original plan of playing some of my bossa nova songs were cancelled and in the end Hem asked me to play Emotions , Have I Told You Lately by Rod Stewart and Heart of Worship for them.

I spent some time yesterday squeezing myself from all of my amount of work , and managaed to get the 3 songs done ... even borrowed Eden's keyboard ... and C.H's sustain pedal ... but guess what ... everything was pre-planned by God today ... We arrived just before 7pm when hardly a soul were there ... the couple's church members were invited too ... and so this uncle carried a keyboard into the restaurant and set it up on stage. I thought instead of moving my keyboard i my as well play theirs ... so yeah i did .. but guess what , it was worse than Eden's one .. no piano sound at all ok! It was the electric piano sound which was horrible . but FINE i was lazy to change keyboard and since the uncle is playing for them .. i am OK .. nvm .. use it.

And so when i spoke to the uncle he was very nice and actually said SURE SURE go and use it .. and when i was playing a little he came up with a young girl asking ,

"Can you accompany her for this song ? HAve I Told You Lately?"

I went wohaaa cool .. that's the song i planned to play actually ... i'll accompany her to sing. Then we discussed about singing another worship song , i suggested Heart of Worship and so ta da! Instead of me playing alone up there , i accompanied this sweet girl who kept apologizing to me because of troubling me changing key and all .. and also because of singing wrongly at times ... we both worked pretty well .. and in the end the performance turned out right . Just went through twice. COOL! But the sound , eeeeu... keyboard suck. I regret not changing to Den's keyboard .. but anyway , the timing and all was divine!

Although it wasn't perfect and my playing sucked big time ... but i am glad God worked out a better plan ... and oh i forgot to mention her voice is beautiful! Just that she doesn't really know how to control the mic and her voice well .. otherwise superb. Pure talent ... and the uncle (who is the girl Zoey's father) seemed to be very nice and thankful for me playing .. and he said ,

"You are god sent! Divine timing!"

I said ya! ... but anyway , my first wedding performance ... wasn't well prepared but i made a vow

"Must go and buy Yamaha Motif adi .. save money! NExt toy to target!"
