Interesting 2 DaYs...

It's 12 40am now ... 22 March 2007.. i had a very interesting yet gruelling past 2 days . Since i already knew i'm going to have a very tiring Tues (20th) and a very tiring birthday but i never knew it could drain you off so much!

The JMC Welcome Concert was generally enjoyable .. i think the 4 hours training is much better than the usual whole day seminar program which sometimes bore me to death . Although i don't know those other teachers in the same room as i am , but i had fun playing the electone and also getting to know someone like Jit.

There's so much to write i don't know where to start ... so as usual , i'm going to move chronologically . To not miss anything important ... coz i guess i had a very important past 2 days as well .. =)

I had some interesting experiences during the training and also had fun performing although some occasions were embarrasing and mistakes were made . But hey , WHO"S PERFECT!? And for some reason after the scholarship audition , Mr ERr Hmm now has the perception that i like to perform and kept asking me to play the piece where everyone doesn't want to play because they didn't practice and that doesn't give him a reason to think that i COULD PLAY! Arrhhh ..

The training ended at 1 30pm sharp and i rushed to studio 17 for my Workshop class without a bite of lunch . Thank god the class was only 1 hour and so i could eat lunch after that and have class until 5 30pm ... then proceeded to Hem house before leaving to Kajang ... and only finishing work at 9 30pm!

It was nice when sisters remember your birthday .. my 2 sisters bought me a small little muffin cake and JR sang me a birthday song when i reached her house ... ahahh how sweet!! Thanks ppl!! LOVE YOU! It's also nice when friends remember your birthday ... Eden made me a very nice pic frame of the collection of photos we took together in our 1 year in Academy ... then it was English class wehn everyone sang me a birthday song and Janice made a very nice card for me... and made everyone signed it . THANKS GIRLS!!! =) *though the "Pres Tan" word seemed funny*

By the time i reached home at night it was 10+pm ... after a last practice of Windscape .. the piece i will perform in the Yamaha Scholarship Award presentation ceremony today . The piece that made me soooo upset today .. =(

So yeah , i woke up at 7+am today .. left the house at 8am targetting to reach by 9am for my electone class .. it was all well , until i played Windscape for C.H to hear ... i started to break down so many times because i couldn't remember the notes . He began to worry and asked me to look at the score .. and then i found out i did not bring the score! Neither anyone else ... So i told him to switch to play something else before coming back to Windscape . I did and this time i played through the whole piece but with PLENTY of slips and forgotten notes .

I then realized the problem was probably not having enough hours of sleep coz he asked me

"Are you OK ? Why , not enough of sleep ah?"

I thought about it and agreed . So yeah , there was nothing much to do .. except to pray and submiit to GOD! I then attended Workshop until 11am and left class early to rehearse for the Scholarship presentation ceremony . C.H was very supportive when he couldn't watch the award ceremony he asked me to call him to watch the rehearsal . So when it was almost my turn to perform i called him and he came to watch me play ...

This time it was better but still with mistakes everywhere .. plus a very unprofessional ending . So Loretta made a big fuss of it and i got another scolding from her ! AHahahaha .. as usual .. My anxiety grew and i began to feel so fatigue that i felt like fainting anytime ... oh not mentioniing my cough that was irritating me the whole morning until i almost vommited in the corridor of the hallway . C.H left immediately after that .. thanks for the support ! =)

After that i picked myself up and could still go for my jazz piano class with James . Had a very nice session today jamming with him .. hehehe .. i love Jazz... then came out to have lunch and met some of my colleagues ... had some chats and hanged around chatting and doing my final practice. (WHY DID I DO THAT!?) Teck was right .. the more i play the more i feel nervous and forget ... but anyway ..

The ceremony started and so ... it was my turn to perform ... was shocked to see so many people attend including my college friends , the BIG BIG VIP people from other universities , those important YAMAHA people , and even family members of the recipients . So yeah i went

"OH GREAT ... this time you're going to screw up Tan Lei Ching"

I played but it was just as bad as any other practices i had in the morning ... i almost break down when i forgotten the melody of the piano section and started to panic but kept myself calm and continued into the next section of the piece . Everything was smooth from there ... it was a major mistake but some people could not hear the mistake ... Things weren't that good after all .. i began to feel so tired that during the photo shoot i couldn't smile at all. .. (So yeah , you're gonna see my pathetic face holding the ugly orange envelope)

Things were even worse after the whole ceremony my peers gave me some feedback .

Teck said "That was your worse performance ever!"

Chin Siang said "wow , i salute you man!You could still continue after you break down... if me sure stop immediately!"

Doris (my colleague who happens to be one of the many who watched it also!) said
"Wah lily ... your performance was keng la! it was good!!"

Carine (colleague) said "it was very nice"

I was having mixed feelings then but was super glad everything was over .... the whole morning was such a gruelling one for me that most of the time i felt like the whole weight of burden was on me .. i could only pray and let God do the work . In the end , i made a new friend (Jit came to watch as well and congratulated me and was eyeing on my money) hahaha ... as well as learning some very important lessons ,

1) Do not perform when you did not have enough sleep

2) Submitting to God is so oh important in helpless times like these

3) There are so many people caring and supporting me in what i do though my parents and family members were not around

4) Although i had a birthday that was only like any other Tuesdays but it was still special because EVERYONE gave me a present whether materialistically or morally =)

5) I have to learn to cope with disappointments and when things don't turn out right i have to just grow up and grow out of it

In conclusion , i just want to shout out THANK YOU to everyone out there who wished me , and gave me presents (whether materialistically or morally) and my day so much better than i thought it would be . =)

Thank YOU for making things easy for me on my birthday and sending my F1 tickets to me on my birthday , thank YOU for coming early today although it is also tiring for you, also for supporting me as well as offering help for my audio recording at home , thank YOU for making the pic frame , thank YOU ALL for singing the birthday song and making the card and coming to support me today , thank YOU for calling me , thank YOU and YOU for your wishes from all the way from australia and Indonesia ! AND

Most of all, Thank YOU JESUS you made it happened! =)

PS : Good news! I can finally record songs from my electone onto my pc !! YAY! Which means whatever i play on the el can now be converted into any form of audio file .. heehhe ... but there's still one problem which i need to solve before getting a good quality of recording out . Will have to wait for a new cable to come ... thanks SOOOO MUCH C.H!!! YOU ROCK!
