20th MaRch...

This is such an amazing date.. wow , there was so much going on i don't know where to start. Hahahhaha .. i guess i'd have to start all the way back to the RTM Angkasapuri trip that YAAM had made to visit them .. and that was when my 2 party planners started their masterplan of throwing me a surprise birthday party. Let's go to the end first. Before i chronologically explain how they planned it.


19th March 2008


11pm - i was online helping Eden to cut out our semester concert videos and trying to convert them into Flash files so she could put them up into her website but for a strange reason my first attempt on our 2plus3 video FAILED and i got really frustrated and pissed of with it. Kim Chuan was busy teaching me at the same time ...


12 am - no sign of Mun Wei coming online .. so i sms-ed her and no reply. Poh Yee was online but was ignorant . I was getting more pissed off because both girls who were suppose to tell me the updates of the next evening's plan were nowhere to be seen. I didn't know what time to avail myself the next day.


12 37 am - Poh Yee called and told me to go over to her house at 7 30pm and we'll be out for a nice dinner SOMEWHERE. We had some minor argument on the phone and she sensed my frustration.


12 45am - Mun Wei returned my call and gave me a lame excuse saying she was too tired and HAD SLEPT at 10+pm while sounding SOOOO AWAKE (i felt strange but chose to ignore that fact) and went on complaining to her about Poh Yee's behaviour.


1 am - Eden came online after sending me a birthday wish sms all the way from UK and i had a very long chat with her until almost 2 45am ... She assured me i'll have a good day ahead and asked me to sleep early to avoid panda eyes.


2 40 am - I decided to leave my pc on while sendin the videos over to her and went to bed. Kim Chuan asked me to pass him the 2plus3 dvd the next morning to poh yee but i refused because i was lazy to. I started wondering why on earth would poh yee be meeting kim chuan tomorrow. Ignored the fact (coz poh yee always meet him randomly anyway!) and went to bed.


20th March 2008


10 30am - woke up and practiced teaching until 12 35pm..


1 pm - went for lunch in Old Town Kopitiam with mom .. while having lunch my legs and hands were very itchy wanting to practice my EF song on stagea but there wasn't one for me to do it. I sms-ed C.H telling him and he then replied "Eh almost forgot Happy Birthday to u." I replied asking how he did he know and was a little strange but again because Mun Wei told me she'll invite him for my birthday dinner so that's probably how he found out anyway. (IGNORANT ME)


2 30 pm - back from lunch. PRacticed piano and jazz .... practiced electone ...


4 30 pm - headed for a nap to recharge me batteries for the night. (not knowing what's going to happen)


5 30 pm - woke up . Got myself dressed ...


7 20 pm - Left for poh yee's house. I sms-ed mun wei informing her im hungry and i'm coming.


7 34 pm - I reached Poh Yee's house and parked my car. Called the both of them to open the gate for me but no one picked up . I felt strange , so while suspecting it was a trick , i got down the car and rang the door bell .


7 40 pm - Poh Yee opened the gate and i saw her in her Black Polo T and Jeans i scolded her for dressing too casual while making me wear my halter red dress ! She said "not nice meh i were like this ? Mun wei sure wear very grand..don't worry."


7 45pm - I walked into the house , poh yee said "Mun Wei's watching the European Jazz Trio dvd in the AV Room" .. i was grumbling how come their still not ready when i'm there already. We should be going out NOW. Very hungry ... Continued walking up the stairs...


7 47 pm - Reached the AV Room and i pulled the curtain opened and i heard a very loud

"S U R P R I S E !!!!"

Then i was soooo shocked because my one glance into the room was seeing some shadows of Pastor Ronnie and Jenn Ming's figure in the midst of the darkness. I was so shocked i pulled the curtain to cover my face and screamed AAAAHHH!!!!


7 50 pm - After calming myself down , i pulled the curtain over and went in to say thank you to everyone for coming and was tooooo speechless to say anything .... I looked around and saw Angela , Sheau Fang , khye lin , Su Yee , Mun Wei (Our EMCEE for the night) , Ps Ronnie , Aunt Carolyn (his wife) , Sandra and Jenn Ming. Oh my .... the best part was , mun wei started by saying ..


"So happy birthday Lily ! Welcome to our very own No Black Tie .. ahahhaha ! Our band for tonight is Pat Metheny' Jazz Trio"


Then i turned to the big screen and saw the Pat Metheny Jazz Trio concert dvd which Kim Chuan had burnt for me as well .... The whole setting of the AV room was soooo amazingly transformed ! I was tooo shock to notice anything except that the whole environment was really beautiful that they pulled me over to my THRONE (ahahah) and then the party started by a short prayer from Ps Ronnie followed by a toast from everyone to me ... OH I JUST LOVE MY GIGANTIC GLASS of cocktail ! hahahah .. then we began eating ... it was just sooo amazing ... i was seated at one of the table facing the big screen with Ps Ronnie and Aunt Carolyn , while the other 2 tables were seated with the girls from YAAM and group from church.


Food was then served by Mun Wei and the other girls .... i saw western dishes served ... Chicken breasts served with brown sauce (that Su Yee claimed the meat was too hard to eat) , fresh garden salad , mushroom soup , and even Japanese Sushi's!! While everyone ate the hard to chew chicken breasts, my dish was rather special because they made Pork Chop for me instead.


And so the night went on ... while eating , i was sooooo touched that i didn't know the girls actually COOKED the dishes themselves until Mun Wei started revealing more stories out... the YAAM girls COOKED all of it! I ate everything cleanly , except the soup because i really didnt like drinking soup more over it was a little too salty .. ahahha .. but for first timers , i really cannot describe how lovely the food was ! While eating , Teck Yeong called back from the UK and wished me ... it was really nice of him .. spending the costly phone bill to wish me. THANK YOU! =) But one stupid thing though , he accidently revealed another slight surprise asking


"Have you watched the video ?"


I was blur and then he didn't want to continue further ... hahahah .. so ok .. then Mun Yee was the next to call and had a short chat with her .. she again REVEALED the wrong surprise..hahahah asking the same question ..

This time everyone gave me this really disgusted look and scolded her .. aahahaha ... and anyway we continued eating .


After the meal , everyone settled down chatting .. and the YAAM girls randomly went out of the room to stick their heads on the internet (DUNNO WHY!) just outside the room ... so i went out, and then they showed me this really sweeeet gift they've specially made for me. A VIOLIN trio of Angela , Su Yee and Sheau Fang taking turns playing Happy Birthday for me... while watching on Su Yee;s tiny camera screen (they didn't had the chance to put this together with the rest of the videos) all of us LAUGHED our heads off really loud because it was sooooo hillarious and sweet at the same time ... Mun wei and Poh YEe then started insisting that we should bring this in to show to pS Ronnie ... and so they insisted that I SHOULD do it .. so i did.


I took the camera in to show ps ronnie and the rest of the church gang what did the 3 girls did for me ... they were amazed and kept goin "WOOW , Woow , WOOOOOW!" after the song ended..ahahhaha ! You girls are AMAZINGLY CREATIVE ! LOVE YOU! After the video ended , i went in to wash my hands and wanted to close the door to pee .. UNTIL ... Mun Wei screamed ...


Wei : "Lily! Lily Come come!"

Me : WHAT ?! I'm in the toilet..

Wei : COME COME ... come .. faster come...


I Thought there were more surprises and so i cleaned my hands quickly and followed her out... she passed me the phone and


Wei : Phone for you

Me : HUH ? who's that?

Wei : Just listen ..


I picked up the phone and said


Me : Hello

WLD : Hello Lily ?


*Oh this voice is strange ... i don't remember any male friend of mine sounds like that*


Me : Yes

WLD : HI i'm Wagner from the Ragged Tigers.... i just want to wish you Happy Birthday ... i know you're having a party over there but i'm so sorry we couldn't be there because of Hiro you know..


*When i heard that my eyes POPPED out WIDE and was almost speechless but had to keep cool to hear what he said and so i started walking out of the room to the hallway outside and i could hear the people inside explaining to each other who's over on the phone with me*


WLD : blah blah blah blah blah .... so how are you feeling ? It's your birthday..

Me : Errrm i'm great.. a little shock... my friends were amazing , they put up some surprises for me ..

WLD : OH GOOOD ! So yeah you enjoy yourself and have a good time tonight .. bla blah blah bla ... So you have a great time , see you on my next gig!

Me : Alright , thanks ... thanks for calling ..see you. Bye

WLD : Bye


I walked in with mun wei's phone and went over speechless again .. everyone else laughed and then i screamed ,


"I COULDN'T BELIEVE YOU DID THIS !! HOW DID YOU GUYS DO IT ? "


i HUGGED mun wei .. and was a little strange coz i realized WLD was talking on the phone like some aunty in the market trying to get a good bargain or a radio DJ interviewing me or something.. WHICH made me had little words to say.. and then they switched on my next surprise .... I FINALLY get to see the video.... it was a small compilation of some video clips the 2 girls had taken the effort to put together for me. First it was Eden wishing me HAPPY BIRTHDAY all the way from UK (Thanks girl! Appreciate it.. i heard you did this very last minute and Mun Wei was FREAKING out at yoU! HAHHAHA) .. then we moved on to Teck Yeong .... who looked oh MY god pathetic on such a close up angle (EH next time take la on the table.. you looked funny ahhahah but thanks! i heard you had to purposely catch the earliest bus to get home to rec this for me) .... then the video moved over to another surprise ... i saw ..


C.H !! His funny laughs and character already made me sooo touched .. hahaha .. He played me a birthday song on the Stagea and wished me over the video but the song had an additional sound effect when his handphone rang in the middle of his performance... after the video ended they asked him what does he think of me after teaching me for 2 years .. and he replied lamely


"She ah ? Very naughty!"


HAHAHHAH .... nice... (Great he just informed me some JSAC student of Jit San's might be competing in this year's EF and this scares me a little... GOD HELP !! I WANt to go to INDO!)


Back to the video .. next we have Unc Charles!! I can't believe i saw him .. on the video i mean. He made a short trip to Yamaha just to record this for me and he played me his rendition of birthday song on the piano and wished me well. AWWW SO TOUCHING ! Then we moved on to the YAAM girls' short performance for me .. ahahahha Sheau Fang on the piano , Khye Lin on the Conga , Angela back up and Su Yee RAPPING ! hahahahah .... she rapped some crap for me which was really hillarious and after they finished the camera suddenly moved over to Jessica standing by the door saying


"HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILY"


HAHAHAHAHHA !! LAME !!!


After the videos ended ... we had another short chatting session and that was when Ps Ronnie had to make a move .. because JM has a test today and he hasn't finish studying .. so before they left , we had a cake cutting ceremony .... took some pictures .. and joked around the cake ... hahaha... NICE cake! We only ate the cake in the middle of the night though .... after the party was over.


JUst before they left , Poh Yee's parents came back from work and they came upstairs to wish me... and the funniest was when her dad said


"Lily! Happy new year happy new year"


HAHAHAHAHHA ...


Her mom wished me and they both gave me a red packet ... thank you! I said thanks to them for allowing poh yee to use their lovely house and organize such a party for me. We then sent Ps Ronnie and gang off .. and we continued upstairs... this time it was more of over and so we started packing .. cleaning up .. and finally ... was sooo drained off that all of us just sat around where they started revealing all the unfolded stories behind the scenes.... by the time we were done , everyone was SO EXHAUSTED (except myself) they didn't have the energy and heart to want to pack up... so since they put up so much for me , i drove home to change , cleaned myself and came back to sleep with the girls for the night.

After i came back to Poh Yee's house , i helped Angela to finish her English essay that was due today and we all sat around the coffee table to eat the birthday cake and watched the compilation of videos for the 2nd time. It was even more hillarious this time that there wasn't much noise and just appreciating it. I LOVE ur RAP man Su YEe ! GONG XI FA CAI LILY also came out ! HAHHAHAHAHA !

21st March 2008

1 49am - some of the girls prepared bed and all of us found our coziest warmest positions and tugged ourselves in and went to bed. Sooner or later i think everyone else dozed off really quick after a tiring 2 days of preparation for this party , but i was rather awake after such an amazing night.. i heard someone SNORING ! hhahahahahha!! Poor thing .. some half hour later i guess i fell asleep too. = )

That was it .. the night ended and after listening to all their stories i was so touched and overjoyed that i thanked Jesus for sending me such a lovely bunch of friends to touch my heart and really put their effort and hard work into blessing my life. =) YOU GUYS MADE ME REALLY BLESSED !
