PRE-ParTy....

This is going to be another jaw dropping post. . hahahah.. I now know how crazy my friends can be , and how much they are willing to go all out for me. =) Alright.. let's see.. i'm not sure how accurate my stories are going to be , since the girls only revealed this out to me after the party ended .. and so if there's any mistakes girls , please correct me . =) Here's the cast.

Post RTM trip (somewhere 2 wednesdays ago)
The girls started their masterplan of organizing a birthday bash for me but didn't know what to do so they went all the way to ask Eden in UK since she knows me better and since i've always wanted to go to a nice jazz bar or anywhere that the Ragged Tigers are playing on my birthday night , and since the band is not playing because James will be out of Msia durin this time.. so this plan is definitely impossible. And so the girls started brainstorming what could possibly please me just as well. So then , the birth of PLAN A was born ....

PLAN A
The original plan was to have the party outside the balcony of Poh Yee's 3rd floor in her house upstairs .. where the grand piano is just situated in the small hall inside of the balcony.. Since there's a balcony big enough to host a party and a nice beautiful grand piano facing it, the girls wanted to invite the REMAINS of the Ragged Tigers (Hiro and Wagner) to come and play 1 or 2 songs for the night. Our girls are willing to bring over the whole drum set for Wagner and all we need is just their presence. The only missing link is the pianist , so they've actually thought of using Grace since she's promised to come back from Genting for this OR ask Unc Charles or C.H to replace James. Their vision was while i walked up the stairs of Poh Yee's house , they start playing 1 or 2 songs to surprise me... WOW if that happens i won't know how to react. And so .. the job division began. Poh Yee in charge of liasing with James while Mun Wei handling the other 2 boys.

After the RTM trip , Poh Yee gave James some never ending phone calls , informing him of their MASSIVE plan and so James said

"Oh i won't be around but you can try asking the other 2 boys. Why don't i give you their number and you talk to them ? You talk to Hiro ya? Errm but do you want me to talk to them first ?"

Poh yee replied a certain NO it's OK because they prefer to speak to the boys themselves thinking it'll be more sincere that way. (AWWW) And so Hiro's number was given .. and next was Mun Wei's turn .

Mun Wei told me how she couldn't believe she had to take out her GUTS to do this for me. She is actually calling someone she admires.. ahhahah.. and for the sake of pleasing a friend! So she told me Hiro sounded pretty open and friendly and they both exchanged details... the funniest was , our friend Hiro said he's not sure because he needs to teach and he doesn't have transport. Mun Wei was like ,

*Alamak .. we rather be on the losing end...*

"OK transport can be arranged for you then"

Then before they ended the conversation , Hiro asked about their wages but obviously our girls said it's just for the fun of 1 or 2 songs and so we're not paying them anything .... (but the girls honestly thought of setting a small budget asside for these guys if they really ask for it) Then the boy said he'll discuss with the other boy and reply her soon. Some time later Mun Wei received an sms from Hiro but it was a rather disappointing one because our friend not only apologized for not wanting to show up but added that they don't really know me and the other boy thinks so too. (sure boh ... i heard different a story from Wagner..??)

Anyway so since Plan A was not workable , the girls had to resort to another just as good plan.. and Mun Wei said she was really upset after getting rejected from the Ragged Tigers... and so Poh Yee called James again. This time asking,

PY : Do you have any practice sessions with ur band ? We want to come over and maybe you guys can play a song for her and we record it on video.
James : Sorry , no practices this month coz we're not playing.
PY : Why don't you play solo piano Jauh Jauh for lily ? We're willing to go over to your house to record your video up for her.
James : Err i don't think so , because i'm rather busy packing these days for my trip.

Another disappointment .. the girls thought. No Ragged Tigers , no James ... no video. They resorted to the very last option .. which is having WLD wish me on my birthday. Crap them... Anyway , so the PLAN A was impossible ,and now they started on Plan B. Which was the one that worked throughout the whole night. =)

Monday (17th Mar 2008)
Both girls made a short trip to Bangsar Shopping Complex to buy all the sushi' cooking materials... They started the cooking list planning...and decoration of the whole setting. To set up a NO WHITE TIE from a normal AV Room with HUGE sofas is not an easy task eh.?

Tues (18th Mar 2008)
Invitations were sent out secretly , to church since Sunday .. to my parents , and even to the YAAM friends. Mun Wei went over to sleep in Poh Yee's house getting all the preparations done. Some lists were made ...

Wed (19th Mar 2008)
In the morning when C.H was around , the girls took the trouble to record the video up from him before my arrival in the afternoon. After classes and Mun Wei's YMSA Scholarship Ceremony , i had a short tea session with her..then Poh Yee waited for us to finish and they went to Giant to do more shopping... I can't remember when , but somehow the girls went to buy black cloths to cover the square plastic eating tables so that it looks more like NO BLACK TIE kind of atmosphere... they spent a pretty long time there wondering how much cloth should they buy which made the uncle selling it really irritated. HAHHAHA... Early in the morning , Poh Yee woke up at 7 30am just to go to the market and buy 20 pieces of chicken breasts ... carrying these breasts back must be HEAVY because she has been bragging about it non stop.. ahhahaha .. Late night Mun Wei spent some time marinating 20 chicken breasts until 12+am.. haha that's when she came out with a lame "SLEPT EARLY" lie and still sounded very WIDE AWAKE when she called me... Poh Yee was helping out with the decoration of the room. After marinating , both girls MOVED those heavy big load sofas that were originally in the room , and started making last minute checklists.. until 3+am! Around midnight , Mun Wei just received the videos from the UK of Eden's and Teck's. Both were so exhausted , they doze off in the AV Room for the night.

Thursday (20th Mar 2008)
Poh Yee woke up feeling lousy and sleepy ... while watching dr Jackyl and Hyde in Jac's class , she was only BLANKLY staring at the screen ..for 2 hours.... Mun Wei finished class at 12 30pm and started going round recording videos for me... unc charles'... the YAAM girls' rapping... After poh yee's class.. she took the videos to Kim Chuan's house and have him compile everything into a nice VCD for me to watch in the "NO WHITE TIE" at night.. ahaha... While waiting for her , Mun Wei brought the other girls to Giant for a very last time shopping for the cooking stuffs. They left and went back to Poh Yee's house and realized the sofas' doesn't look good in the AV Room.. they decided to bring in the red/white single seating sofas which looks tonnes better and started cooking ... that was 3+pm.

Poh Yee came back not long after buying a few stalks of lovely red/white roses as decoration , and while the rest were cooking in the kitchen .. screaming and yelling at the maid for help like as if the maid was theirs... poh yee took out the red cloth she bought and sprayed black paint on it as a banner for my birthday.

5+pm - All girls realized time passed really fast and they were running out of time.. the kitchen began to turn HAVOC and everyone started shouting and yelling at each other for the things not done. Chicken wasn't fried , sushi's still in the making ,soup not boiled blah blah ... the initial CHILLED behaviour was lost and everyone started panicking.

By around 7pm everything was FINALLY done ... well set up .. all had a chance to take their shower and chill a little before the other guests arrive .. BEFORE me... By 7 34pm everyone from upstairs the house saw my car coming into the guard house and Joo Ee announced my arrival. Mun Wei who was still in the shower took the quickest bath she ever had , and dried her hair with the hairdryer like some crazy fella.HAHHAHAH..... And so i arrived .... and the party started. = )

I've definitely missed out a lot on the little items the girls shopped for .. the PRE preparation was soooo intensed that by the time the party was over all of them were soo exhausted they dropped dead .. and i didn't know how much effort they've put in if they didn't tell me the stories themselves.. so .. all the lies... they were good liars after all. =) hahhaha and i learnt a few things from this party.

1) God blessed me with blessed friends
2) I now know how crazy my friends are !
3) I definitely must learn to be more appreciative over my buddies
4) I have learnt that my life is precious and Jesus and the people around me are loving me for who i am
5) Although small , but little things in life matters and you don't get this all the time
6) I don't need PLENTY of gifts for birthdays ,but one big bash like this is more than ENOUGH
7) My 21st birthday is definitely more than SWEET , more than SPECIAL , more than BLESSED

Finally , i actually want to thank all of the people involved in making this a nice one. =)
Mun Wei , Poh Yee , Eden , Teck , Kim Chuan , Unc Charles , C.H , James and his Ragged Tigers, Sheau Fang , Angela , Su Yee , Khye Lin , Ps Ronnie , Sandra , Jm , Aunt Carolyn, Poh Yee's parents, and whoever else i've missed out but if so i'm sorry i thank you for all the hard work !

And oh .. let's see.. .what did i get this year for birthday...

1) An external hard disk from the sisters and bro in laws ...
2) A red packet filled with a condom inside! (written : For Asians only ,not Germans) ?!??!?!?
3) A pair of RED SHOES i've been eyeing since ages ago from Nose by sister
4) 1 free ticket and trip to the Genting International Jazz Fest by mom!
5) RM 200 from dad
6) A family dinner in TGIF on Wed night , sponsored by dad
7) A pair of PINK DOG design speakers from C.H !! (he's ssoooo thoughtful i never expected him to buy me a gift although it's already belated!)
8) A little key necklace by Janet , Jess and Michelle (my ex-school mates)

And so that was it .. .20th march 2008 wil always remain EXTRA SPECIAL in my heart because God made it so. =) THANK YOU ALL !!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS A BUNCH!
