CockyNess....
I was meant to actually post about this first tonight , but due to some "pressure" from Ting .. ahahha i went to post about our Concert instead. If you have been chatting with me on MSN tonight you would know definitely what this post is going to be and would probably then again , want to click elsewhere. HAHAHHA
Anyway , yes ... cockyness. I was engrossed watching the most exciting ever F1 GP for this year from 8pm to almost 11pm ... just now. After rushing back from The Curve feeling drained off , worn out , sleepy , sick , cold , and tired , i was pretty sleepy before the race started and almost doze off at some point. But after the first 3 laps of the race , i couldn't help but feel stimulated again. HAhaahhaa
The race was really exciting , plenty of dramas thanks to mr Unpredictable Weather who made all the teams gamble on which tyres to choose from , and most importantly send us all a strings of early retirements because of the aquaplanning from the very VERY WET track. The child prodigy Hamilton was one , who skidded off and luckily escaped damage and returned to the track with the help of the marshal crane. While he was a little unlucky working his way up from last place when the race restarted , a new rookie driver Wilkenhock actually led the race briefly on his first debut race!! hahahha ...
While i enjoyed watching all the dramas unfolding , i also enjoyed the duel between Alonso in the Mclaren and Felipe in the Ferrari. It was suppose to be a 3 horse race but due to Kimi's strings of "wherever he goes his car seems to fail him" came again. He retired with a hydraulic problem in 3rd place. So it was a duel between Massa and Alonso. Of course Felipe was steady , with a good car and fast pace he led from beginning until 4 laps remaining ...
Mr Unpredictable Weather made some rain poured down again ... and all teams went in for a tyre change , both drivers went in and came out together. Guess what ?
Felipe's car was much much more slower with the vibration from the tyres that cost him so much. His 1st place win , his hard effort throughout the whole afternoon , his joy and his pride. Poor fella was overtaken by ALonso after touching his car and that's where the point of my post comes.
While Felipe tried extremely hard to defend his position but it was impossible because the Mclaren was just too fast. After the race was won , clearly Alonso was OVERJOYED and MAssa was bitterly disappointed. After coming out from his car , Alonso cockily asked the cameras to follow him and he pointed at the black marks and scratches left on his car resulted from the "touch" they both had during the fight.
After seeing that , i said
"YEER! That's so cocky of him! Stop it Fernando"
Not only that , the drivers later on went upstairs to wait for the podium ceremony and in the backstage while waiting , Alonso was clearly so happy that he felt like hugging everyone and putting on his WIDEST smiles and later Felipe came up. Alonso saw him and IMMEDIATELY told him off about the incident.
Although i couldn't hear what he said , but from the body language of Alonso it wasn't really pleasant and after that Felipe was fumed and angry . He was so angry that he told him off in return and started pointing and poking Alonso angrilly. I've not seen that little cute Brazillian boy so angry before! Felipe couldn't smile at all after that and his face was PITCH BLACK from then on.
Then i said ,
"Hey Felipe ok la.. don't be a sore loser... Stupid ALonso .. don't be such a show off ok!"
But actually after hearing the press conference and reading more reports here , i found out that Alonso said some very OUCH things that triggered the poor Felipe. Yes Felipe touched him , but after watching the video replay i thought it was just a pure racing incident where he wasn't trying to close the door on him purposely! If Schumi was in Felipe's shoes , i bet you Alonso was already taken out of the race ok. Hahahha (see i'm objective after all)
During the press conference though , Alonso made a statement and even apologized to Felipe and touched his hand in return to try to tell him "don't be angry" kind of gesture but Felipe was extremely upset he couldn't and wouldn't even want to accept his apology.
I thought to myself
"OK la he apologized , don't be so siu hei Felipe.."
Then again , after reading more news online ... i now know why he was so angry as it wasn't the first time Alonso behave like this and i definitely feel that Alonso going up to his face to tell him off IMMEDIATELY after the race wasn't a good idea at all.
Why am i writing about this ? OK maybe because i'm a pure F1 fan .... always caring about gossips and dramas like these to happen .. but actually i'm more concerned about the reason and situation that aroused it. Maybe music students start analysing every single thing they see..but i like to try and think about things like these and see how other people's experience can relate to my life and learn from it.
I was just thinking , ok Felipe wasn't very sporting to be angry about it in public and pull his long face and made sure NO ONE missed out on him being angry.
Alonso was definitely cocky for showing off his victory (it was purely deserving because he fought for it and no disrespect because it's racing) in front of the cameras of millions of viewers and even made a rude remark to Felipe immediately after the race.
BAsically ...
1) It's pretty unpleasant to say things without trying to understand what others' feelings are about.
2) Yes you are a double World Champion and people look up to you , but showing off to the viewers about the scars left after the incident only shows how cocky you are and it's not even Felipe's fault and neither yours!
3) Their duel and fights are not my problem at all , but i just felt pitiful for the driver who drove hard and long all race and was about to win it until he lost it - and still had to had more salt poured over his wounds.
Life is unfair huh ? But then again God promises us with an eternal life just as long as we have faith in Him .... Not everything turns out our way , as usual .. and many things can happen while we are at the peak of our jobs , family , and spiritual life even. Then again , God told me today to be
Faithful not Fearful .
So felipe ,
"It's Ok! ForGivE ALoNso anD his CoCkyNess..."
Life is more to that . Think about the 200 over passengers that died innocently in Brazil after that plane crash. That's what your black armband and helmet band was for anyway, right ?
PS : How nice if Schumi were to present the trophy to a Ferrari staff instead of to Mclaren boss .. ironically ..
